1940 – 1941

Josep Cudié started working as the lead baker at the Joan Trens and Riba pastry shop, a historic building known as Cal Catani in Vilafranca del Penedès. This pastry shop was very well known for its chocolate nuggets.

1943 – 1946

At the Trens Pastry shop he started working on an assortment of bonbons that were trending in Paris. One of these chocolates was the Cro-crem. People liked this chocolate so much, that it started to be present in all the assortments that Josep Cudié made.

1950 – 1953

Josep Cudié established himself with his own resources at a small bakery where he started making chocolates, among which was the Cro-crem.

1960

Josep Cudié registered the Cro-crem and Catania brand since they were an important part of his Cro-crem production line.

1965 – 1995

We start exporting outside of Spain.

1995 – 2002

Start of the 3rd generation with a creative and innovative spirit that held onto the family secret of creating every variety of chocolate bonbons.

2001

We move to a new facility with greater capacity and infrastructure.

2003

We offer a wide range of chocolate assortments.

2009

We open the online store www.cudieshop.com

2010

We earn the Food Safety ISO 22000 accreditation, which guarantees the safety of our entire food chain.

2011

We launched a new collection of Gourmet Chocolates into the market, which have surprising flavors.

2013

We export to more than 20 different countries (Germany, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Romania, Denmark, France, Czech Republic, Estonia, Russia, China, Japan, Australia, South Korea, United States, Canada, Martinique Island, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, South Africa).

2015

We open a new Cudié store concept in Vilafranca del Penedès.

2016

We open a new Cudié store in Vilanova i la Geltrú.

2020

We open a new Cudié store in Barcelona.

The original covering that we add to the almond is the great family secret. A recipe that has been kept from generation to generation and that, thanks to its unique design, creates the bouquet that is so characteristic of the Catania.
